The other day, I was thinking about the nieces and nephews on my side of the family. I found two interesting trends - one old, and one I had never realized before.
Of the four of us that are married with children, three of us have single gendered offspring. My oldest sister has 3 boys. My older brother has 4 boys. My husband and I are expecting our 3rd girl. Only my other older sister has one of each. It will be interesting to see the final boy/girl count when all is said and done.
The same 3 siblings also have only born children in even numbered years. Only one of my other sister's children was born in an odd year. So, that means out of 12 (including the girl in my belly), 11 will have been born in even years. I found that to be pretty amazing.
