Third Trimester Woes...

Dust mopping under the furniture

Doing dishes

Kneeling at Mass

Sitting on the floor

Carrying full laundry baskets down the stairs

Being on my feet for any length of time

That is a short list of all the things I do that remind me of my growing belly. I am 29 weeks now which is amazing. The first trimester went fast, the second went slow, and now I can't believe we're in the third already.

Now that I am in the third trimester, I am being reminded of the need to slow things down for these last couple of months. Sometimes it surprises me when some of the things on my list are awkward or uncomfortable. I've been fortunate not to have much swelling so far, but the last week or so it has snuck up on me, mostly when I've been standing/walking for awhile.

I am so thankful to God for this pregnancy and for all my pregnancies. I have been very fortunate to have fairly easy pregnancies so far. (I say that now, when that pukey first trimester is a distant memory...) I am still struggling to get my iron up and have to caffeinate some days to make it to nap time, but I'd much rather be tired than have a more difficult cross.

We anxiously await the arrival of our newest little princess. We have been filling any free weekend time and some week nights with home improvements. We've decided to switch the big girls' room with the baby room. Of course we decided this after we painted the old baby room (now big girls' room) a gender neutral light purple/blue color and are preparing to paint the new baby room a light pink color. Jeremy's pretty sure we've sealed the deal that Felicity will be a Felix with that move. We'll see!

Last weekend, I tried out canning for the first time. I made cranapple butter. It took forever! I had no idea it had to cook so long. The recipe was for 6 pints and I ended up with 5. But I was 5 for 5 on my lid seals and it was delicious! Success! I am excited to can up our garden produce this year. We planted a "salsa garden" as we call it with tomatoes, green peppers, jalapenos and cilantro. (That was a fun project for a later post.)

In other news, Clare has been sleeping terribly. She has been getting up 3 or 4 times a night. I can't complain about the lack of sleep, because I sleep right through it. But I must complain about my husband's lack of sleep and Clare's lack of sleep (complete with bags under her eyes). It isn't that she doesn't need her naps anymore, or that she naps too much, because it happens either way regardless. I hope she gets back to sleeping well before the baby comes.
