Every year we try to go back to Atkinson for the 4th of July to visit Jeremy’s family and enjoy Stuart’s 4th of July Parade. This year, we did go back, and we only kind of enjoyed the parade. It was cold and drizzly and of course, we didn’t exactly prepare for that kind of weather when we packed for the trip.
Here’s Bernadette, purse in hand, ready to get some candy!
As floats went by, Bernadette snuggled with Grandma Patti and waved. Note the cold expression on her face :)
Gathering candy!
Happy now that she has candy. :)
Where was Clare? Slept through the whole thing!
After the parade, we had lunch with the Seger family. Here’s the girls with some of their second cousins.
We drove home that night, and as we neared Lincoln, it was getting dark enough to watch some fireworks. Both girls thought this was really neat, until Jeremy rolled down his window and Clare heard how loud it was outside. Then, she fussed and cried until we got home.
Here’s the girls watching fireworks from our window.
