Gymnastics

 

This summer, we enrolled Bernadette in gymnastics.  She absolutely loved it, and it helped her to develop her physical skills. 

Here she is after jumping across the trampoline like a kangaroo.

 

This is either before or after she skinned the cat on the rings.  One of the instructors is next to her.

She struggled with the narrow balance beam, but hopefully next year she will get it!

 

The only troubles she had on the wide balance beam was being silly.

They have a whole room full of trampolines.  There are six total, one child to each.  Here Bernadette is practicing her seat drops.

She had no trouble at all doing the spider walk on the parallel bars.

On the uneven bars, she was supposed to put her feet on the lower one, and do a chin up on the top one and hold it for 5 seconds.  Every time she got up there, the instructor would start counting and she would start doing pull ups instead. :)

 

Sometimes they would do races.  Here she is doing the crab walk next to the instructor who owns the place.

Bernadette absolutely loved gymnastics.  She was pretty bummed when it was over.  We would have liked to enroll her during the school year, but it just didn’t work out for us this year.  She will definitely do it again next summer.
