My mom has always been crafty. When we were little she would occasionally make clothes for us (more so for my older sister and brother). Over the past 9 months or so, I’ve been intent on learning to make clothes. I started with some simple skirts for the girls which turned out well. This year, for Easter, I was intent on making them dresses. I found a pattern that had the word “easy” on it and got to work.
One might think with a mom as crafty as mine, sewing things would come natural. Well, it doesn’t. I know my way around a sewing machine, but I have to literally study the pattern and instructions before I get started. For these dresses, I read and re-read and read parts out loud before I finally understood what needed to be done. Sure, I could have called up my mom and asked her to help, but I knew how that would turn out. She would tell me exactly what to do, step by step. What’s the problem with that? Well, I would never be able to do it on my own if I didn’t learn to read instructions that come with the patterns.
So, I made the girls’ Easter dresses. I let Bernadette and Clare help pick out the fabric. Felicity’s is from a different pattern so hers looks a bit different, but for the most part, they are the same.
The dresses definitely aren’t high quality, but I did my best and Bernadette loves hers, so that’s all that matters. (Clare’s still young enough that clothes don’t matter to her.)

Can we get a picture of all three? Well, we can try!
You whoo! Bernadette and Clare! Look over here!
Felicity! Look over here!
Clare! Smile!
Well, they’re all looking. Good enough? We’ll try one more.
Good enough. Should we try for one closer to their faces?
They are all looking at their handsome Papa who just walked into the room.
Everyone leaned towards Bernadette…
Everyone leaned towards Clare…
Ahh… Good enough!
Those dresses look like they turned out pretty cute! And trying to get a picture of 3 wiggly kiddos...I totally understand the difficulty of that task. Your girls are cute!
