Winter Activities

During the frigid days of December and January, when the snow was either too hard or to soft to make real snowmen, we found ways to make snowmen inside.
Above is Bernadette's felt snowman. I have loads of felt in my basement, so I had cut out 3 white circles, one orange carrot nose, a black hat and black coal circles for the eyes, mouth and buttons. This was a fun activity for all three of us girls.

On different days, we also made snowmen out of cotton balls and buttons, and white finger paint.
When it finally was a good snowman building day, Jeremy took Bernadette outside during nap time and made a whole snow family. Bernadette loved helping and Clare loved looking at them out the window.

He spray painted the eyes and buttons.

After the snow family had been up for a couple of days, one of our neighbors (we aren't sure which one exactly) added his/her own touch and put a candy cane yard decoration next to the family.

Bernadette loved playing outside in the snow and probably would have until her toes fell off. Clare pretty much hated it and only tolerated it to humor us. :)

Here is a video of Bernadette sledding down a snow drift.
