Notes for the Baby Book

Clare is now 11 months old. She still doesn’t walk without hands, but she sure can hustle if she’s holding on to you. I have a feeling that as soon as she starts walking, she will be running.

She has 6 teeth; two on bottom and 4 on top. She loves to eat finger foods. Her favorite foods are green beans, pears, hot dogs and cheese. If you try to spoon feed her, it goes like this:

She can say “hi” and does say it at every opportunity. She does a lot of yelling, especially when she is excited. Otherwise, she mostly babbles. She calls Jeremy “dada” now, which is funny because we call him Papa.

She is infatuated with her stuffed camel that she sleeps with. She often grabs it when I’m getting her out of her crib. I always let her hold it when she’s nursing so that she doesn’t scratch my face. :)April 084

Clare with the camel at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. She loved them!

She is still nursing 3/4 times a day. She nurses in the morning, afternoon and before bed. If she happens to get up in the middle of the night (poopy diaper or cold), I usually nurse her again.

Here she is sleeping with her camel.

She loves being outside. We have a baby sun tent thing that my sister gave us last year and she loves it. Yesterday, I sat her in it with some toys while I tilled up our garden and she played just fine for probably half an hour. She doesn’t try to crawl out or anything, she just sits there nicely and plays.

April 007She loves playing with balls. She is getting pretty good at throwing. She also loves books. She will play on the floor looking through books for a long time. When I look at books with her, she points to the pictures and babbles. Its super cute.

Here is a picture of her on her 11 month birthday. Back story: We’ve been going through the baby clothes, getting rid of some and repacking the rest and the pacifiers were in the containers, too. Well, Bernadette found them and has been playing with them with her baby dolls and friends. Clare had occasionally picked them up and chewed on them from time to time, but never like last night. Last night, she found one and had it in her mouth right. She sat in her high chair for probably 10 minutes before starting her snack because she didn’t want to take the pacifier out of her mouth. As you can see, she looked super cute, so I had to take a picture. Clare maybe had the pacifier for real when she was in the hospital the second time. Other than that, she never cared for it as a baby.
