Didn't Make It

So, our self imposed deadline for having our house on the market has come. Unfortunately, we aren't ready yet. However, in our defense, the weather hasn't exactly cooperated. We have been trying to reseal our deck and paint the outside of our windows, but the rain and high humidity worked against us last week. I also had some rough pregnancy days which made me not much of a help on a few days last week.

Needless to say, we had to revise our goal. Instead of having our house listed by today, we wanted the 3 bedrooms done and photographed. (check! see below for pics) We are going to call to have it put in the bulletin this weekend, and list it on craigslist and get a sign in our yard by Friday.

"What have we been doing?" you ask. Well, like I said, we have the 3 bedrooms done - painted, closets improved, top to bottom cleaned and decluttered. My husband and I are even sharing a dresser right now. Good thing it is summer, or that might not be possible.
Here's the baby room. Obviously not ready for the baby who is expected to arrive in 5 weeks, but hopefully attractive to potential buyers. We put wire shelving in all the closets. The kits cost less than $40 and were totally worth it. We do have closet doors, but I think it looks a lot nicer and neater without them, so they are in our store room in the basement.
Here's the other half of the baby room featuring our new crib. We had used a drop side crib that originally belonged to my nephew who is now 12 years old. Thank you, Grandma Patti, for this garage sale find!
Here's the girls' room - closet side. Again, I love the wire shelving in the closet. It is great because Bernadette can get her own clothes out. Also, they don't have a dresser. Their socks, under shirts, undies, etc. go in the fabric drawers of the cube shelf. Again, easy for them to retrieve their own things.
Here's the bed side of their room. Clare desperately wants a twin bed, but we aren't quite ready for that yet. The chair in the middle is where time outs are spent and stories are read. It is also used as a ladder for the girls to get up on their window sill...they are a couple of monkeys, that's for sure. The chair also helps keep Clare in bed at night. We push it up against her bed, so there is only a small possibility of her falling out during the night.

Here's our room. We painted the walls a blue color and our bed has red sheets and the trim is white...totally unplanned 4th of July themed. Oh well, it looks nice.

Our closet. Shelves we use for shoes in the middle and room for a laundry basket at the bottom. Love it! We are totally putting these wire shelves in our dream house.

Our living room is almost done. We've packed away two containers worth of toys and books and rearranged the furniture. We still need to paint the window sills our dog has drooled all over (gross...) and scratched. Hopefully in the next 2 days that will be done. Our bathroom is a little bigger project. Other than needing cleaned, we need to rethink our use of the space we have, find somewhere to stow away the 2 stools and trash can and come to an agreement on the shelf we have over the toilet. I want to get rid of it, Jeremy thinks it should stay.

The kitchen has been cleaned (Thank you, Patti!). The floors need done and the counters need cleared off again. It has become a catchall for things that need to go downstairs or outside, but we will probably need them again. As far as the basement goes, I've packed up a container of school stuff, but that's about it.

It is going to be another long week! But, if God wants us to sell this house, it will sell whether we put it on the market or not...oh wait. :) We have lots of meetings and appointments this week, so there's bound to be some late nights and early mornings - which is okay, because it is too hot during the day time to get anything done outside! 5 more weeks and it should cool down a bit...for me anyway. :)
