House Update

So, our last deadline came and went...oops...

All along it has been one of those things where we cross one thing off our list and add two more. I must say, our house is looking pretty snazzy these days - at least the outside is.

Last Friday, my husband took the day off of work (my birthday :) ) and we had a couple of meetings regarding the new place. The first one was with our new construction loan guy...yep, we are now working with a different builder AND a different bank. It was getting to the point where we realized that we had been going through the whole process for almost 2 months and had gotten no where. We were constantly waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to return our calls, emails, etc, and let us know what the next step was. We are very confident that these changes are for the better.

In the evening, we met with they guy who is drawing up our blue prints. That was fun. He listened! :) He said he should have some things for us to look at late this week or early next week.

Saturday and Sunday we spend almost entirely outside. We borrowed my brother-in-law's power washer and basically bathed the house. We painted the windows, washed the windows, and Jeremy did some yard work. The front and side yard look amazing, but the backyard isn't nearly as nice yet. Thank God for the nice weather this weekend. We had lots of popsicles and ice water to help keep us cool and the girls ran around in their swimsuits all weekend. :)

Last night, after we returned the power washer and visited with my sister and her family for awhile, we loaded up in the van and Jeremy checked his phone. He had a missed call and voicemail. I checked it for him, and it was a realtor from Nebraska Home Sales. He said he was working with a couple who saw our house last year and remembered they liked it. He looked it up online and saw that it never sold, so he was giving us a call to see if we're still interested in selling. Talk about jaw dropping Divine Providence! Jeremy called the guy back and told him, "actually we are very interested in selling still...we were planning on putting it on the market at the end of the month." He's going to get back to us as to when they want to come and see it again. How crazy would it be if we sold our house before even putting it on the market again?! Even if it doesn't go through, it'll be good for us, because like Bernadette said, "if the guy wants to come see our house, we will get the house ready quickly, but if he doesn't, we will get it ready slowly." Ah, the wisdom and understanding of 3 year olds...
