Small Successes - March 12, 2009

FaithButton

Success 1: At the end of last month, I made a supper menu for the entire month of March. So far, I have followed it almost perfectly! It is nice to have the menu planning done before hand. When making the menu, I just paged through a few of my cook books and picked out recipes I wanted to try or have tried before and liked. I scanned the recipes into my computer. Then, each week, I just put all the recipes for the week on one page (in Publisher) and print them off and I'm ready to go!

Success 2: I am making major headway in reading Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. In high school we read the abridged version and I don't remember much about it except that I liked it. So, I checked out the unabridged version from the library and I am now over halfway through. The edition I got is 1222 pages long and I'm on page 680. It is a great book, but it has its lulls. My husband is into a Sherlock Holmes book that he got from the library, so I get a lot more reading time.

Success 3: Bernadette filled her second potty chart. It took her 12 days to fill up 24 spots. (She got a sticker every time her pull-up was dry.) In her defense, Jeremy and I are terrible at putting her on the potty on the weekends and when she was sick, we just put her in a diaper. We are doing a second 'stay dry in a pull-up' chart and yesterday, she was dry all day until late in the evening. I am really hoping for a potty trained 2 year old at Easter.

  1. Hi, Kati! =]
I saw your comment on Aubrey's blog and just had to check yours out, too. It's so fun to read your stories of being a mom. It seems like just yesterday you were at my TEC table...it's amazing how quickly age melts away when you share the same stage in life as someone else. We have two kids now, too, and I can totally relate. I love to finally see them really enjoying each other! Anyway, just wanted to say hi. ; )

    hugs,

  2. I've just come to start reading and have been interrupted (so to speak) by a short person waking from their nap. I will come back! Just wanted to say 'hi'. :)
